Marvelous, magnificent Mexico

In year 4 we have been learning about Mexico in our English AND topic lessons. We are going to share with you our top three favourite things we have learnt about Mexico. Hopefully you like them and feel REALLY persuaded to travel to Mexico. We think we should go on a school trip to Mexico. We would use our Spanish and learn so much!

  1. Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is celebrated on the 1st and 2nd of November. It is a celebration about people who have passed away. They create really pretty sugar skulls and make special bread with cinnamon and sugar. We made the bread and thought it was super delicious!

2. There are loads of different things you can see and do in Mexico! There is a desert with exotic, amazing animals and a jungle! Not to mention Mexico City which is one of the biggest cities in North America! There is loads of good food to eat too, we all want to try a churro (it’s like a sugary, cinnamon donut). They also have over 115 different saints (with all different festivals).

3. Mexico is in the ring of fire. This means that there are 48 active volcanoes. Pico de Orizaba is the highest volcano in Mexico and the highest volcano in North America! It is amazing to see.
