Ariana Grande is my favourite artist, I love her music, her style and her acting too. She has been on the stage for the past 13 years and her popularity goes from strength to strength. Let’s take a look at her achievements in more detail.
Ariana Grande Butera was born on the 26th of June in 1993. She lives in New York, USA and her occupation is singer, songwriter and musical artist. She has a half-brother named Frankie-Grande (LUCKY FRANKIE!) and to date she has won 81 musical awards and has been nominated 260 times with four nominations still currently pending. She is known and praised for her unbelievable vocal range and listening to her songs you can hear really high notes and a very clear delivery.
Ariana’s career started in 2008 when she was in the Broadway musical 13. She went on to work in television and became hugely popular for her role as Cat Valentine in the Nickelodeon television series Victorious at the age of 16.
Her interest in music grew and she started recording songs for the soundtrack of Victorious. In 2011 she signed with Republic Records after the executive spotted her covers of songs she had uploaded on to You Tube.
Ariana Grande released her debut album, my favourite album, Yours Truly, in 2013. It’s a mixture of pop and R&B music and it included her first US top ten single, The Way which featured the rapper Mac Miller.
In 2014, she released her second album, My Everything. It also topped the US charts and included four US top ten hits – Problem, Break Free, Bang Bang and Love Me Harder.
Dangerous Woman, her third album was also a pop and R&B style of music. She released it in 2016 and it became her first UK number one album.
In 2017, a bomb was exploded at one of her concerts injuring many and killing 23 people, two weeks later Ariana had organised a benefit concert called One Love Manchester and propelled herself into the hearts of the British public.
There was no stopping her, in 2018 she released Sweetener and in 2019 the massively popular Thank U, Next album. On this last album she experimented with rap but keeping her pop and R&B tones.
By working so hard, Ariana became a household name; she won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album and she became the first solo artist to hold the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100 with Thank U, Next, 7 Rings and Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored. She is also the first act to have the lead singles from each of their first five studio albums debut within the top ten in the US.
Her popularity continues to grow, not only has she won a Grammy Award but she has added one Brit Award, two Billboard Music Awards, and three American Music Awards to her name. What’s more incredible is she has amassed over 25 billion streams on social media. She is the most listened solo female singer on Spotify and Apple Music.
I like Ariana Grande because she’s not a cocky singer and she cares about important topics like LGBT rights and she is an outspoken feminist. I like that she controls her public image. Her style is one I really admire, I see many of my friends use her ponytail hairdo and see how their fashion choices are inspired by this great artist.
I believe she is a good role model for people my age, she’s one of the 100 most influential people in the world and in 2018 was awarded Woman of the Year.
