Everyone can’t wait until the summer holidays; school is over for 5 weeks and you can do exactly what you want. The first few weeks are fun and you know how to keep yourself busy but after a while you could find yourself twiddling your thumbs. Don’t worry we have come up with some amazing ideas. Read on to discover what we have come up with.
Here are some things you can do when it’s sunny outside
- If it is nice weather, you can go outside for a cycle ride (make sure you have a helmet on when you are riding also make sure you are safe.) Great places to cycle close by are: Jeskyns, Shorne Country Park or even down to the prom in Gravesend (with an adult of course!)
- You can also go for a walk around your area.
- Go swimming.
- Go to the park.
- Arrange to go out with your friends.
- A trip to the beach
- You can do your garden (which might take you longer than a day!)
Things to do if the weather is bad
- Play your favourite board games (I like Sequence, Frustration and Monopoly)
- You can play charades with your family.
- Invite a friend to your house to play with you.
- Drawing or colouring is always a great idea for getting creative. Check out the drawing videos on You Tube for ideas.
- Play Pictionary or other card games like Uno, Go fish and Sevens.
- Watch a movie (why not make some popcorn first?)
- Do some baking – I like baking cakes both big and small!
Put down your electronics!
You can do many things without electronics taking over your life. Many people think that anywhere you go, you have to have an electronic device. This isn’t true and I advise you to discover it this summer. Put your device down and go out; you’ll soon be having so much fun talking, playing and laughing with friends (both old and new).
Whatever you do, I wish you a very happy summer.
