Breakfast Club at Riverview Junior School

Riverview Junior school has many clubs. We have lunchtime clubs, after school clubs (like blogging club) and we have a club that starts in the morning, namely Breakfast Club.

Breakfast club starts at 7.30 am and children go to the playground to meet their friends at 8.30 am. This club only costs £2.50 each day and is very helpful for parents who have to be at work before dropping their children at school. There are three lovely ladies that run the club and make sure that everyone eats a good breakfast and has fun whilst they’re waiting for the school day to start.

What happens at Breakfast Club?

Parents are required to bring their children to the hall side door. Here, the children are greeted and parents sign them in. School bags and coats are placed on the benches and then the children can go and eat a really good breakfast.

I have been going to breakfast club for a couple of years now and I really enjoy it. Mrs Lockwood looks after us along with the other lovely ladies. There’s plenty to do and no one gets bored.

What can you eat and drink?

At breakfast club, there is a variety of things to ea, like pancakes, toast, waffles, cereal (including Cheerio’s, Shreddies, Rice Krispies and Weetabix), yogurt and raisins. To drink, there is water, apple juice, orange juice, summer fruits and lemon squash. No one starts their day hungry!

What can you do at breakfast club?

There are numerous enjoyable games to play with your friends! Here is a list of some of the games you can play at breakfast club:

  • Uno
  • Spin to win
  • Giant cards
  • Chess/ checkers

Currently there are around 40 children that attend the club but there are still places for more to come and join the fun. Breakfast club is a great club, especially when you have nothing to eat at home! As a person who attends breakfast club, I recommend you try it out.

If you are interested in finding out more, you can visit our school website for more details or go to the office and ask for the correct forms to fill in. Once the forms are signed, you can use the breakfast club any time you wish. Payments are all made through the School Gateway app.
