If there is one person in the school that everyone has a hundred questions to ask it’s Mr Kendall. We sent along a reporter from Riverview Junior School Blog Club to find out all about him. Read on to find out what Tia from 5P discovered about our Head Teacher.
What do you like about your job?
I love my job. If I could choose to be anything I’d be a Head Teacher. The reason is I love watching children grow and learn plus, they are really funny.
Are you happy here at Riverview Junior School?
Yes, I am very happy with all of the children, the parents and the staff. It’s a nice place to work. If I was a child I’d want to come to this school.
What do you like about Riverview Junior School and what, if anything, would you like to change?
I like that we have a big school. I like that there are lots and lots of children and I get to meet many people.
If I could change something, I’d change how the school looks. There are areas around the school that I’d like to improve, for example there are certain classrooms that have holes in the walls, the floors need replacing and the walls need repainting. If I had lots of money I’d like to give you all new classrooms.
A second example is the quad area. We have started to make changes there, we have spent money on a pond which has been lined and there is a safe dipping station built on the side. We want to fill the pond with fish, frogs, newts and other pond life. I want to create a seating area where the children can sit and have there lunch, with flowers and birds to look at. This is one of the reasons I formed a gardening club.
Do you have lots of work?
I don’t work as hard as the teachers and TA’s. The hardest job is being a teacher, the next hardest job is being a TA but I do have lots of work to do.
What is your favourite food?
Oh, that’s a hard one to answer because, as you can see, *Mr Kendall rubs his tummy* I love my food! To answer your question I’m going to say Spaghetti Bolognese.
What’s your favourite subject?
Another hard question! It would probably have to be maths but I have lots of close seconds, I love art and I love science too.
What’s your favourite film?
*Mr Kendall has a good long think about his answer and then says* … ‘Indiana Jones!
What’s your favourite playground game?
Stuck in the mud as long as nobody cheats!
What’s your favourite sport?
Basketball.
Were you clever at school?
Not especially, I wasn’t top of the class but I did ok. I understood most things.
Have you ever had a red card?
I haven’t had a red card but I’ve been close a couple of times. I had a couple of warnings, I’m a bit talkative. My teachers used to call me Rent-a-Gob!
As you can see we found out lots about Mr Kendall in our interview, keep an eye out for more interviews with members of Riverview Junior School staff coming soon.
